The Ephemeral Hotel Rive Gauche

Design | August 27th 2018

A new season begins, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites you to discover its latest Homeware trends and its selection of new interior design ideas.

For its Fall-Winter 18 season, immerse yourself in the world of the perfect pop-up hotel on the Parisian Rive Gauche. The interior boasts the subtle refinement of a boutique ambiance, with fluffy carpets and precious details transforming the halls into reception areas, while the Seventies-inspired volumes create intimate spaces. The dining room is transformed into a private restaurant, while the bedroom feels like a multifunctional suite and the bathroom is given a new twist with a cabin-like feel.

Welcome to the Hôtel Rive Gauche!

At the Reception

Leave your luggage in reception, which welcomes you into a soft ambiance with its gentle lighting and mellow shades, such as mustard yellow, ochre and powder pink.

For comfortable and refined seating, Paradisoterrestre produces designer pieces in limited editions, with an aesthetic that establishes a dialogue between art and design. The two-seater “Marcel” armchair, designed by Kazuhide Takahama, sports straight and symmetrical lines. Choose the peacock blue shade to brighten up the space.

The walls are enhanced with mirrors in the shape of ovals, circles, lozenges and semi-circles by Adele C. These form unexpected constructions that bring a new and graphic dimension to the room.

Finally, for the ultimate touch of sophistication, add a coloured glass vase by the famous master glassmaker Venini. The brand regularly works with renowned artists, such as Carlo Scarpa, Gio Ponti and Tadao Ando to name a few, transforming the vase into a true work of art

The Lobby

Hélène Morbu’s creations redefine contemporary ceramics. Futurist yet primitive, her pieces are hand-crafted with extreme precision.

There’s no need for flowers with these Suprematic vases by the Ukrainian brand Noom. Inspired by the geometric lines of the Suprematist artist Kazimir Malevitch, the tubular shapes are combined with pieces of precious metal.

With re-issues of old pieces alongside new creations, Paradisoterrestre creates a dialogue between art and design.

The Restaurant

For dinner, the dining room becomes a private restaurant with its long, set tables.

Top Danish brand Hay produces industrial-inspired furniture, as well as decorative objects and colourful kitchen utensils with graphic lines. Cups, plates, pitchers and bowls dress even the simplest of tables to perfection.

In a different world, Mason Editions, an Italian collective discovered in Milan, creates accessories such as vases and candlesticks with minimalist, austere designs in precious materials such as matte brass. They add a subtle and understated touch of elegance to the dining room.

La Suite

For a bedroom to rival the finest hotel suites, it’s the little details that make all the difference.

The bed – the central feature of the room – is adorned with soft and comfortable materials. To light up the space, the Rive Gauche home textiles collection offers bedlinen in chic and bright shades, such as yellow gold and royal blue.

The Suite : the Study Room

For 25 years, Vau has been making stationary from precious metals in satin finishes. From pen-holders to letter openers, the shapely, geometric and organic silhouettes make us want to shut off our computer screens altogether.

For the first time in Paris, Elliptic Circle is presenting its elegant collection of Mooncrater lamps. This young furniture brand based in Hong Kong designs and produces poetic and refined objects using artisanal techniques.

Back to paper with Atelier 225. A young Lyons-based brand founded by an interior designer, its notebooks, diaries and envelopes are embellished with traditional goffering and contemporary decorations.
