Salvatore Ferragamo created his eponymous brand in Florence, Italy in 1927. Fascinated by human anatomy, and engineering, he wrote that “the weight of the body falls on the arch of the foot like a plumb line”. This scientific approach led him to create many iconic styles, such as the Cork wedge, innovative both in material and form.
90 years later, Salvatore Ferragamo remains a symbol of glamorous Italian craftsmanship.
