Two grand red bookcases—the Maison’s signature color—were specially designed to feature each collection of Assouline books. Legends, Mémoires, Icons, Classics, and Ultimates are thus highlighted, each collection in its designated bookcase. Each one features an illuminated inclined shelf so that clients can easily view the books.

The Ultimate Collection, comprising limited-edition tomes crafted by hand, takes its place here. The newest titles—The Impossible Collection of Wine, presented like a vintage wine in its wooden box, and the spectacular Botero, edited in collaboration with famed artist Fernando Botero—will satisfy even the most enlightened enthusiasts.

A rich selection of unique objects unearthed by Prosper and Martine Assouline, chosen especially for Le Bon Marché, is presented on a monumental marble table, formerly used for conferences at the daily newspaper La Loire Républicaine, that dates from the mid–twentieth century and comes from the contemporary furniture collection of Le Bon Marché.

Assouline’s majestic “X” book stands, in brushed black oak with brass finish, preside on either side of the bookshelves. These creations of unique design are sold exclusively at Le Bon Marché. More than just book stands, these fifteenth century–inspired masterpieces are the definition of chic book accessories: true sculptural objects made to decorate an interior or a modern library.
