Vintage shops are reassuring places. You enter knowing what you will find: pieces from your school or university days, a multitude of clothing from army or navy surpluses and some sports items. There are also work clothes, and ties, of course, not to mention the ubiquitous Hawaiian shirt or perhaps even a kimono or two. The atmosphere is redolent of the seventies... but the whole thing also gives off a certain feeling of normality. In a way, vintage shopping validates archetypes. We find things, but they are things we already know.
Francesco Ragazzi wanted to evoke this sensation with the new Palm Angels collection: the impression of familiarity triggered by normality, a certain idea of calm, with the reassuring atmosphere and the muffled rebellion of a vintage boutique. And all this, of course, with Palm Angels' inimitable style.
