The history of the Vans brand goes back to 1966 when the two Van Doren brothers joined forces with three other partners to set up their own company, the Van Doren Rubber Company. The Californian brand creates sports shoes that have become a real reference for skaters, snowboarders, and BMX riders. Among the most successful models is the "Era" pair, released in 1975, and also, four years later, the famous Slip-On, a boot without laces and worn by the American actor Sean Penn in the film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
