In 2009, Simon Porte Jacquemus founded his couture brand and gave it his mother's maiden after she sadly passed away in a car crash. The brand's DNA is intrinsically linked to the designer's childhood in his native Provence. The collections are inspired by the French lifestyle, childhood memories in south-east France and different art mediums, from movies to photography and sculpture. The Jacquemus look is first and foremost a unique style that has shaken up the fashion world with now-cult pieces including the famous Chiquito bag and the geometric heeled pumps. This French brand also focusses on ethical and responsible production as part of its sustainability commitments. Jacquemus pieces have elegant cuts and lively colours despite the absence of details. That said, the silhouettes are modern and sophisticated. Each design perfectly showcases a blend of elegance with a daring style.
