As accomplished academics, Merve and Beste Manistir’s path to founding MANU Atelier was an exciting journey of styling, study and travel. Growing up, they were exposed to the raw talent of their father, one of Turkey’s oldest artisans, who created leather goods by hand at his atelier in Istanbul. From a young age, he taught them the importance of craftsmanship, heavily influencing their destiny. The two sisters are inspired by this family heritage and design modern pieces that combine top-quality leather with handmade techiques. The Cylinder bag, an iconic Manu Atelier piece, owes its name to its long, rounded shape. It is finished with the famous golden arrow. The Pita bag stands out thanks to the thin cut-outs on the lower corners. The brand has also brought out the Manu Hobo bag, which has a more traditional design.
